The Cypress Sky Retreat was a collaborative project led by architectural designer Richard Diamond and design developer Alexa Baughen. The form was influenced by the desire to maximize the home’s stunning mountain and treescape views and provide a connection to nature from within the serene interior. The designers were challenged with restrictive local zoning regulations and worked hard to maximize the floor space, building heights and outdoor areas. The design driver for this project was to bring indoor and outdoor living spaces together using natural materials including curated reclaimed wood pieces, natural stone and contoured clay tile details. The rustic finishes and furnishings combined with the modern architectural lines and accents result in a truly collected, modern home.
