Home to an energetic golden retriever and his two owners, this renovation sits in the heart of Kitsilano and creates an ideal hub for a retired lifestyle. Spreading over four narrow floors of the existing townhouse, an open plan was developed to optimize space and flow as well as maximize the access to the view and natural daylight.
Being the golden retriever’s favourite part of the house, the staircase reveals minimal yet refined metal railing, nicely pairing with natural oak flooring to camouflage any lost fur.
Neutral tones, ample light, and soft elements surrounding the dining room establish a calm and welcoming area for gatherings of all types.

The kitchen, being the heart and centre of the house, showcases clean and simple lines in the millwork and abundant natural light coming from the windows on both ends of the first floor.
The mix of bespoke woodwork details and accessories throughout the space translates the merge of casual traditional aesthetics and a contemporary space.
The open-concept floor plan layout in combination with warm, resilient materials, finishes, and furniture creates a venue for entertaining as well as quiet, relaxing moments.
