This custom 2,500-square-foot duplex in the Central Lonsdale neighbourhood of North Vancouver was built for a family with two young boys. Inspired by a Scandinavian aesthetic, the design features soft neutrals, black accents, and natural textures; a refined minimalist look that comes to life in the details.
The exterior of the home is wrapped in a soft grey shingle, accented by black windows and a charcoal entry door. The interior plays with tones of grey, whites and blacks, grounded by white oak hardwood. Modern, playful light fixtures throughout create visual interest in key spaces throughout.
Graphic tile grounds the bathroom spaces and creates striking visual interest. Graphic wallpaper in the kid’s bedroom and softer wallpaper in the powder room and nursery act as an elevated backdrop in each room. The duplex is a modern, laid back and simplistic family home with striking details.
Master Ensuite: charcoal porcelain tile laid in a chevron pattern grounds the space and adds visual interest. Walls feature a large format porcelain tile, two black sconces, a modern arched mirror and black plumbing fixtures.

Nursery: soft blue grasscloth wall covering, woven baskets and a blue toned chenille rug for a soft and organic feel.
Front Living Room: over-sized neutral abstract art, marble coffee table, modern cream boucle accent chair grounded by a modern take on a traditional rug.
Stairs: black metal framed, full height clear glass. Black metal handrail, white oak hardwood stairs.
Kitchen: nine-foot island, two oversized matte white modern pendant lights, charcoal toned island with soft grey perimeter cabinets. Matte black edge pull hardware, solid white quartz countertop on the island, solid quartz with veining on perimeter and backsplash.
Dining Room: black modern structural pendant, marble tulip table, patterned rug, view to stairs.
