The design for Cortez Crescent was inspired by the natural surroundings of Grouse Mountain and the owners dynamic way of living. A balanced combination between Scandinavian aesthetics and the family‘s west coast lifestyle requirements dictated space planning as well as the selection of the interior finishes. This resulted in open spaces dressed with a selection of natural, calm and inviting materials. In addition, a series of windows and skylights were modified and added to the house to flood the interiors with natural light and maximize views of the natural landscape around it.
