Warm in Dunbar

Project description by Line Contracting. Photos by Jesse Laver.

After working in Africa for a few years as physicians, the owners of this Dunbar project in Vancouver enlisted the help of Line Contracting to renovate their existing home. Inspired by the colours of Africa and their appreciation of mid century modern aesthetic, the team at project22design were hired to integrate their love of both elements into the project details. What resulted was a unique, minimalist interior with clean lines injected with bold colours and patterns. The palette is warm and inviting, not overwhelming. The choice of materials and the addition of many architectural details creates a modern, comfortable and luxurious space.

Line Contracting’s approach was to bring this 80’s house to today’s standards and integrate the new additions into the space. The scope of work included reframing a good part of the house to accommodate the new kitchen and 2 new bathrooms as well as a lot of other electrical, mechanical and structural upgrades.
